Yucca (Yucca filamentosa), AKA Adam's needle and thread, is an evergreen shrub native to the southeastern United States. The fibrous leaves were traditionally used to create rope, twine, and even baskets, while the large flower petals were incorporated into salads. There's also evidence that the fruit was roasted and consumed after removing the seeds.

Medicinally, Yucca Root has been used to treat a variety of ailments. Extracts from the root have been applied topically to reduce inflammation and swelling, and it appears to have some antiseptic properties.

In some traditions, it's used as a protective amulet, warding off negativity and evil spirits. The sharp leaves are also symbolically linked to strength and resilience.
