Sulphur, though often referred to as brimstone, isn't a stone. It's a
nonmetallic element naturally occurring as a bright yellow, brittle solid. You
might find it in crystal formations, but these are more akin to crystallized
sugar than a gemstone.
Sulphur is quite abundant. It can be found near volcanic vents, hot springs,
and even in some cave formations. In its natural state, it appears as bright
yellow crystals, chunky deposits, or even fine powder. Interestingly, refined Sulphur
is often a pale-yellow powder used in many industrial applications.
While not considered a gemstone with mystical properties, Sulphur has held a
place in folklore and mythology for centuries. In some cultures, it was
associated with purification due to its ability to burn with a bright flame.
Alchemists also incorporated it into their experiments, believing it held the
key to transforming metals into gold.
