Amethyst occurs when the presence of manganese is found in Quartz crystals, with the additional inclusion of iron in varying quantities, produces the purple coloration that we associate with Amethyst, which can range from pale to deep violet and may be transparent or opaque in clarity. Amethyst is found in many locations worldwide, most commonly in geodes, clusters of various crystal size & color.
