Goldenrod (Solidago odora), also known as Sweet Goldenrod or "Aaron's Rod", is a flowering perennial native to eastern and southeastern North America. Historically, various indigenous tribes have used different parts of the sweet goldenrod for medicinal purposes. The leaves were brewed into teas for coughs, colds, and stomachaches. Poultices made from crushed leaves were applied to wounds to aid healing. Sweet goldenrod has also been used as a natural dye, creating a yellow coloring for cloth.
