The purpose of divination, whether it is done through crystal scrying, runes, or tarot reading, is "to find that which is hidden."
This can mean finding an answer to a question or a lost item, seeing into the future/past, or communicating with spirit
beings. Having an important question addressed and analyzed, or
being given something to meditate and think about, can help a person find the answer to their own question. Divination is also a great way
to have some fun with your friends, as long as you remember to treat the cards (and the forces they connect you with) respectfully.
Because divination deals with the human psyche, it explores both
the light and dark aspects of life. Often divination can reveal frightening truths or possibilities about situations; on the other
hand, they may offer hope and guidance, and a glimpse at a greater truth. Remember that a 'dark' message isn't necessarily 'bad', nor
is a 'light' reading by default purely 'good.' Practice and patience are the virtues which will enable you to accurately read all the nuances of the messages your divination tool brings you.
