Because all of our classes require preparation
(of student supplies, hand outs, demonstration supplies, etc.) ahead
of time by the teachers, it is necessary for interested students to
sign up before the actual date of the class. Also, our teachers are
prepared to teach a class on their given subject; if there
are less than 3 students signed up, the class may very likely be
postponed until a later date.
(If
a class is postponed, students do not lose their fee, but will be
asked to attend the class at a later date when there are more
participants. If a class is cancelled due to a lack of participants,
the class fee you paid may also be transferred to any other class of
your choice. If you are unable to
attend the class, you must notify
DragonMarsh no later than 24hours prior to the class, or you will
forfeit your class payment.)

Dragon Sky Watch
Times listed in Sky Watch are
Pacific Standard Time, unless otherwise noted:
Nothing really going on sky wise this month that I have heard about. In fact, here in Southern Calif, we are getting into a weather pattern that over the years has been come to be known as "May Gray / June Gloom" in which the local climatic conditions combine to keep us overcast quite a bit, which of course makes stargazing or sky watching a bit hard. In fact, except for the occasional high pressure system that pushed through and gives us a bit of wind, the following forecast will probably be good almost every day till late June.
"Late night and Early morning low fog & cloud, turning to partly cloudy in the afternoon."
May Moon
Grass Moon ,Hare Moon, Bright Moon, Dragon Moon, Milk Moon
The May Moon is when things really start to bloom & grow, here in the southwest, frost is gone, as have any real chance of damaging rains, now is the time to get the garden planted for late spring & summer crops. But as it is also a Hare Moon, watch out for a new batch of bunnies, looking on from the tall grass and waiting for their chance to nibble on your recent grown greens!

Horoscopes by Rose Blackstone
Capricorn: Just when things seem at their worst this month, you must not give in. You’ve been thrown down the well of depression, lead through a maze of indecision and been left in a cage of your own paranoia. But, believe it or not, there is hope in the dark corner of your dilemma. The breaking point is just on the other side of the hurdle, you just can’t see it yet. As the saying goes: it’s always darkest before the dawn. And if you give in now to defeat, you will never taste the sweetness of a dream fulfilled.
Aquarius:
Pisces: Be kind to a stranger this month and you will find that the world will reciprocate in turn. Doing good deeds for their own sake is just good karma, but when you help those closest to you, you also see the immediate effects that you have in your world. You know that you can make a difference and may the cynicism will fall away from your heart and your actions. You don’t need to slave away in a soup kitchen for hours on end in order to do some good. There are other, more immediate ways. Especially if you are forced to juggle home, social and work life. The next time you eat at a fast-food restaurant, get a refill of you soda and pass it on to someone who needs it. When you get free samples of pet food in the mail, drop them off at the nearest animal shelter. Get creative and see the world of difference you can make in just one small action.
Aries: A small run of luck will bless you with treasure this month, but don’t spend it all in one place. Often when we are given a windfall from the blue, we are tempted to throw it away on some small trinket for immediate satisfaction. Not that feeling good is a bad thing, but those feelings are often fleeting in today’s world. So try using you money wisely, for an extended sense of gratification. Take a class to expand your mind and skills. Try a new hobby, which will give you hours of inspiration. Or maybe take a vacation, which will give you memories for the rest of your life.
Taurus: Spring has sprung. So why are you still trapped up in the gloom of winter? Change your wardrobe to reflect the brightness of life. Maybe repaint a few problem areas of your home to help change the mood of the people who live in it. Fresh flowers and plants bring vital energy into a place that’s gone stagnant over time. And always remember to sage to chase out the negativity that’s been hoarded in the corners like dust bunnies under the furniture. A little brightness and cleaning will have you buzzing with life in no time.
Gemini:
You are on the verge of a rather large decision in you life. It
may be a new job, and addition to the family, or maybe even new love.
But try as you might, you can’t seem to commit to a course of
action. Don’t feel bad, you’re in good company whether you realize
it or not. So ask those closest to you, whose opinions you trust, for
help in making those important decisions that life throws at you. Make
a list of do’s and don’ts. Eventually, when faced with enough
good, hard evidence, the choice should be clear.
Cancer:
You have a good eye for a deal, but this month your skill (and
you patience) may be put to the test. Sometimes a deal of a lifetime
falls into our laps, and we should just smile and be grateful. And
then sometimes a “really big deal” comes along and sets off all
the mental alarms. Use your judgment, if something “feels wrong”
than most likely it is. Pay attention to the source of the deal; is
this someone you can trust? Is this something you can afford? Is the
deal in question legal? Trust your instincts, they’ve lead you to
where you are today.
Leo: Just because you don’t receive the attention and praise form the people you want, doesn’t make you a bad person. Too often we are trapped in bad relationships, friendships and places of employment where we feel that we are giving ourselves fully and not being respected or appreciated for what we’ve done. The problem isn’t with you, at least not in the way you think it is. Now matter how hard you try, you can’t make everyone happy all the time. And if you try, you just end up wasting your life trying to “be liked”. You can’t make people like you, and more than you can make yourself win the lottery. So just be happy with who you are, and the people who will respect you for being yourself will outnumber those who want to change you.
Virgo: Stop trying to run other people’s lives! Yes, you are an organized individual. You may be very knowledgeable. And we all know you have very strong opinions. But if you don’t give co-workers, friends, and loved ones some space to make their own decisions about life, you will be excluded from theirs. Step back and wait for them to ask you about how to solve a particular problem. Don’t bully your way in and run someone else’s life. People like to think that they are in control of their lives. And if you’re spending so much time trying to control the lives of others, what are you out of control in your own?
Libra: Go ahead and treat yourself this month. You deserve it after the rush of April taxes, the whining of friends and family members who need help with the most mundane of matters, and everyone in the office acting like complete idiots. Take in a movie. Maybe visit a museum. Perhaps even splurge and visit a day spa. Not that daring? You need to learn to be. You’re the one thing you haven’t invested time in lately, and it’s starting to show.
Scorpio: If your world spins too fast for you to make heads or tales out of a specific problem this month, feel free to pull the emergency stop. You’ve been there at work and on the home front, ready and willing to put your social life on the line to put out the fires that threaten the worlds of the people around you. Now it’s your turn to ask for help, and anyone who balks at the request doesn’t have your friendship in mind.
Sagittarius: Your mission this month is to take a step back and revise your life. The reason you can’t solve your problems is because you are too close to them. You can’t see the forest for the leaves, much less the trees! Take a few hours, go some place you don’t have to “work” and sit down with a notepad and a pen and write out your problems and possible solutions as if you were trying to help a stranger. Try not to feel emotionally involved with the issues and you can find the answers that you are looking for. Make a battle plan to conquer your future.
Stone Lore By Rose
Tiger Eye

Tiger eye with its bands resembles an eye of tiger, so it is received its name due to this similarity.
Tiger's eye (tigers eye, tiger eye, tiger iron)
is a member of the quartz group of chalcedonies. It is one of the
chatoyant gemstones. Chatoyancy exhibits a changeable silky luster as
light is reflected within the thin parallel fibrous bands. This effect
is due to the fibrous structure of the material.Tiger Eye is used for
focusing the mind. It is said that Tiger Eye offers protection during
travel, strengthens convictions and confidence. This very warm stone
is beneficial for the weak and sick.
Roman soldiers wore tiger's-eye for protection in battle. Tiger Eye was thought to be all seeing due to its appearance. Many legends about quartz say that wearing tiger's eye (which is a form of quartz) is beneficial for health and spiritual well being. Legend also says it is a psychic protector, great for business, and an aid to achieving clarity. To this day, many people who study the chakra consider tiger eye a tool for health and well-being. The beautiful semi-precious tiger eye gems that we enjoy are most commonly golden brown. Occasionally, the stone is blue/grey and is then called falcon’s eye or hawk eye. Red tiger eye also called cherry tiger eye. Most modern day tiger eye comes from Australia, China and South Africa. It has a hardness of 7.0 on the Moh’s hardness scale. As with all gems, protect tiger eye from scratches and sharp blows. Also avoid large temperature changes.
Tiger's Eye is the Planetary stone for Gemini (May 21-Jun. 20) and the accepted gem for the ninth wedding anniversary.

Dragon Thoughts
$4.00 a gallon, that's my break point. Thats when I park the car and seek alternate transport to work. And what really gets me hot under the scales is the way speculation has driven the cost up. Someone takes a potshot at a tanker, up $2.00 a barrell, Russian production down 1% from last year, thats good for another $1.00 a barrell! Give me a break! I know that I am luckier than a lot of you out there, I live close enough to the shop that walking , biking, or even hopping the bus isn't a problem. My heart goes out to any of our readers that have more than a 30 minute commute.
Here at the Marsh, we have gone back to an adage from WWII. "Is this trip really necessary?". We hold off on going anywhere until we have 3, 4, or 5 stops in the same area. I have also dropped my driving speed from an average of 75 down to about 60. Anything I can do to make that tank of gas go further.
On another subject, it's been over a year now at our new location, and we are still getting people wandering in, finding us again, who thought we went out of business. (CENSORED CENSORED CENSORED) Ok, now that I have got that out of my system...Neighbors, if you have a friend who used to shop with you in the store, please make sure that they know we are still here. Or better yet, tell someone new about us. It would mean a lot to me..
